First United Presbyterian Church
Our History
As a congregation, we trace our
roots back to the year 1876 when a
group of Welsh immigrants arrived
in the lumbering town of DuBois.
Our congregation began in that year
with a mere 10 people. Since then we
have served the DuBois Community
through ministries and missions,
including home delivered meals,
educational opportunities for all
ages, community events such as
musical concerts and dinners, and
through the many civic
responsibilities of our members.
We are a Presbyterian Church
(USA) congregation.
In response to the commandments of Jesus Christ, we seek to Faithfully Serve God: in community, into the future through the outreach and missions of our congregation. These missions include:
Paint & Play School

FAITHFULLY SERVING GOD IN
COMMUNITY INTO THE FUTURE
is the mission focus statement and
serves as our directive for ministry and
mission in this community and around
the world. For 130 years the First
United Presbyterian Church has
faithfully served God and we trust that
God will continue to work in us and
through us in the coming days and
years. Each day, members are
encouraged to seek ways to serve God,
using the gifts God has given them and
proclaim God's goodness and grace to
all.
The congregation is planning for and
participating in the future of God's
ministry through renovations to our
buildings, continued support of Paint
and Play School, and community
outreach programs.
